Fillings

What is a dental filling?

Filling is the process of restoring a decayed or broken tooth back to its normal function and shape. The dentist removes the affected area of the tooth and then fills the area with filling material. Composite resins match the color of the tooth perfectly, with excellent aesthetic results. In the past, resins were not suitable for use in large cavities and in the back areas of the mouth where they are subjected to high chewing forces. With the development of nanotechnology, these problems have been solved and today it is possible to use them in all cases.

What is the process followed?

The dentist administers a local anesthetic and then removes the decayed tooth tissue, trying to save as much healthy tissue as possible. He then places the filling material and finally checks the alignment of the teeth.
